Psychology

Likes
Blackwater (looks to him as a brother figure), making Blackwater laugh, when his clever tricks succeed, a successful hunt, a good drink, amusing/entertaining others, story telling, talking/debating, moonlit nights (he likes running in his other form), charming others, romance (or romances—he likes the passion and drama the create), when Blackwater trusts him to complete a task.
Dislikes
When others look down on him, when someone questions Blackwater’s authority, the residents of Stonehaven, Being caught in a lie (except by Blackwater—he sees that as a sign his cousin knows him well. He also rarely lies to his cousin and never about anything important), disappointing Blackwater, being hunted as/considered a monster.
Personality
Tall, handsome and debonair, Greyshadow likes to charm others with his wolfish grin and silver tongue. He is often playful in nature and speaks with bravado to amuse those around him. He is a wily thing, having a casual yet calculating approach to matters. Seeming a jester of the pack, he hides his cleverness beneath the visage of a foolish rogue so that others underestimate both his strength and intellect. He likes to toy with others to learn about them and can often come off as ignorant or arrogant. He is trying to get under your skin to find out what you really are and takes insults as a man who has heard them all. Overall, he seems fun and foolish, charming and pleasant, but not one to be trusted as honest. The only one to ever have complete certainty in him is Blackwater, who has earned Greyshadow’s unfailing loyalty. One may question many things about Greyshadow, but never his love and support for his cousin.
Fears
That Blackwater will turn his back on Greyshadow for his antics, being caught by hunters.
Quirks
Greyshadow tends to brush off anger fairly well, however, when he is angry, he growls like a wolf.

History

Year 1843: Greyshadow is born to Dawnshadow and Windwillow, two highly skilled hunters for the pack.

Year 1848: Greyshadow appears to be more of the runt of the pack rather than strong and big like others his age. This leads his mother to grow resentful and essentially neglect her child, focusing more on hunting and feeding the people. Dawnshadow tries to encourage the boy’s strengths and begins teaching him archery, stealth and tracking.

Year 1849: One moonlit night, Greyshadow’s parents take him on a hunting expedition that goes horribly wrong. Tracking a prey leads them into the lands of a farmer in the nearby town of Stonehaven. The hunt wakes the farmer who grows fearful for his life and livestock. He gathers his sons, and they attack and kill Windwillow. This leaves Dawnshadow and Greyshadow to retreat, only to be pursued. Greyshadow is injured in the chase and Dawnshadow dies in an attempt to distract the hunters, giving his son time to escape. Injured, it is  his father’s sacrifice and Greyshadow’s stealth that saves him. He hides himself from the farmer and his sons, where he expects to die alone and frightened. The farmers eventually give up the chase and return home. Blackwater is the one to find Greyshadow the next morning, and stays with him until more members of their clan arrive to help the young boy.

Year 1854: When tensions arise against Stonehaven, Greyshadow is one of the first to argue for war, since he has always seen the villagers of Stonehaven as cruel monsters. Usually one to smooth tensions with his charm, humorous antics and silver tongue, Greyshadow’s support of the war shows his distrust and contempt for outsiders. He is cautious when the Lord Spiritual arrives but supports Blackwater’s actions (he is unfailingly loyal to his cousin, no matter if that loyalty denies him vengeance).

Year 1855: Greyshadow is pleased that Blackwater is recognized as Duke of the Black Forest, though is still wary of the outsiders.

Year 1859: Greyshadow hears about the new diplomats, Kendra and Cloe, sent from Aether to meet with Blackwater. Seemingly less threatening than the knights who arrived in 1857, Greyshadow is curious about these new visitors and plans to meet them.
