Year 1822: She is born to the brother and sister, Baali and Consena. They arrive in aether to begin a life there.
Year 1827: They take up work in a mobile caravan as merchants and Rissa learns to apprentice under Baali.
Year 1828: Rissa watches as her parents are smoted by Lel'Eyon, playing host to the Arch Angel Mihkael. She is saved from his wrath by Astera, who takes her in as her own daughter. They are introduced to Aether where Astera enrolls her in the local school. She also makes somethign akin to a friend in Chestin.
Year 1839: When the hostage situation happens she is captured along with Leila and Astera. The girls bond over their straits in prison. They are released later in the year but then all out war breaks out and they are forced to return to Phaira.
Year 1842: The war between Phaira and Aether ends in a forced truce by Janos III. This allows the phairan's to return to Aether if they desire. After talking it out with the girls, Astera resolves to go back.
Year 1843: When the capitol falls she is smuggled to the Temple by an undercover knight, Illucia. She has remained there with Astera ever since.
She lives ten years with Astera, and her lover Essence, in the Temple.
Year 1853: Events force both Astera and Essence to leave the Temple. This leaves Rissa on her own for the first time in years but she is confident she can handle it now.
Year 1855: Rissa is appraoched, out of the blue, by the mysterious "Reg Black". He works with Leila in the Monster Hunters and needs a mage for a mission he's on. While she is skeptical of him at first, she agrees since friends have been urging her to get out more. What unfolds is a wild journey she never expected.
They awaken a sleeping witch, Hadley Dowmire, who it turns out removed curses for a living before her contianment. Someone has since stolen those curses. They, along with a girl named Emmalise, team up to find them. Along the way almost everyone has a secret revealed - Emmalise works for a man called the Time Keeper, Reg is actually Geralt Ashcroft and the Lorekeeper, Hadley's curse theif is also her son...
Between dealing with twists, turns and having to seduce a moronic nobleman, Rissa finds much of her own inner strength. She learns she is sexy, she learns she is smart, she learns her compassion runs deeper than most of the group... when the road reaches its end, for better and worse (both Geralt and Emmalise do not survive the trip despite her best efforts) she has grown leagues as a woman.
After, she takes Hadley back to the Monster Hunters. Chasing her curses across Aether is just the kind of job they specialize in. She signs herself up as well, no longer content to rot in the Temple with her books.
